About Us

Expedition MS addresses the $88,487 annual financial burden of living with Multiple Sclerosis through a global sailing project and media partnerships aimed at fundraising to reduce costs for affected families. Inspired by Tim Archie's 20-year battle and resilience against MS, this venture promotes inclusivity in the maritime and empowers communities with new media strategies to broaden awareness and foster global support.

What We Do.

Expedition MS addresses the economic and personal challenges of MS through global sailing expeditions, impactful storytelling, and community-driven fundraising, empowering individuals and fostering inclusivity. Join us in transforming personal challenges into powerful contributions, demonstrating resilience and determination on a global scale.

We’re embarking on a global circumnavigation, stopping at various ports to engage with local communities, share stories, and promote inclusivity. These expeditions are not just journeys but active engagement platforms where participants, including those with MS, can partake in sailing, directly experiencing the empowerment our program aims to foster.

Global Sailing Expeditions

We collaborate with top-tier media producers and content creators to document our journey. High-quality documentaries and social media content will share compelling stories of resilience and community, increasing awareness and empathy towards MS. We utilize social media platforms to reach a global audience, leveraging the creator economy to enhance our visibility and impact.

Our Values

🎯 Purpose

Everything we do is connected to our mission: empowering people affected by MS and disability through sailing, adventure, and resilience. Every mile sailed, every story told, and every dollar raised must move that mission forward, building understanding, raising funding, and making the maritime world more accessible.

🛡️ Courage

We take risks that matter. That could mean sailing a tough passage, testing new ways to make boats accessible, or speaking up when the sport of sailing excludes people. Playing it safe won’t create change.

🌱 Resilience

Storms, setbacks, or shortfalls happen. We adjust, keep going, and hopefully laugh along the way. Every challenge teaches us something that makes us stronger for the next leg.

🪨 Fortitude

We face the hard things head-on, whether it be through loss, long crossings, or slow progress. It’s about being steady and reliable, especially when things are hardest, because change only happens with grit.

👣 Commitment

We do what we say we’ll do. Integrity is measured by action. Whether it’s a promise to a partner, a deliverable, or a family affected by MS, we follow through. As we say: watch the feet.

Meet the Founder

Hey Hey! I’m Duff Archie.

I’ve been sailing since I was 11, thanks to my dad, Tim, who lived with Primary Progressive MS for over 20 years. He’s the reason this project exists, and the spirit that still guides it. He taught me to push outside my comfort zone while carrying my values with me. That’s what Expedition MS is about.

Professionally, I’ve spent the last decade building behaviorally informed tech products and mentoring early-stage founders. I co-founded a platform to improve travel risk management compliance, served as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence, and led product strategy grounded in empathy and impact. But this voyage is personal.

With US Sailing certifications, thousands of ocean miles, and a background in behavioral product design, I’m now bringing those experiences together to make sailing more inclusive, to tell overlooked stories, and to support families like mine who navigate chronic illness every day.
